New Feature: Background Settings

We've introduced a powerful background setting feature to the editor, allowing you to make your screenshots more expressive.

Why Use Background Settings?

  • Highlight the Subject: Add a clean background to make the main content of your screenshot stand out.
  • Enhance for Sharing: Screenshots with beautiful backgrounds attract more attention when shared on social media.
  • Protect Privacy: Hide sensitive information around the screenshot by using a background fill.
  • Brand Consistency: Add a unified brand color background for screenshots used within your company.

How to Use Background Settings

  1. Click the [Background] button in the toolbar at the bottom of the editor.
  2. The background settings panel will appear, offering various options.

Background Types

1. Solid Color

  • Function: Adds a solid color background to the screenshot.
  • Options:
    • Preset Colors: A selection of carefully chosen common colors.
    • Color Picker: Pick a color from the screen or the screenshot itself.
    • Custom Color: Input HEX or RGB values to select any color.
  • Example: Add a brand-blue background to a product UI screenshot.

2. Gradient

  • Function: Creates a smooth color transition for the background.
  • Options:
    • Gradient Type: Linear or Radial.
    • Direction/Angle: Adjust the direction of the gradient.
    • Color Stops: Add, remove, or modify multiple color stops.
  • Example: Create a gradient from light blue to white to simulate a sky effect.

3. Image

  • Function: Use a custom image as the background.
  • Options:
    • Upload Image: Upload an image from your local files.
    • Gallery: Choose a background from our provided gallery.
    • Fill Mode:
      • Cover: Fills the entire area, possibly cropping the image.
      • Contain: Displays the full image, possibly with empty space.
      • Tile: Repeats the image to cover the area.
  • Example: Use your company logo as a background watermark.

4. Transparent

  • Function: Removes all background, making the screenshot's background transparent.
  • Applicable Format: Only effective when exporting as a PNG file.
  • Example: Create an icon with a transparent background to easily place it in any design.

Advanced Adjustments

  • Padding: Adjust the distance between the screenshot content and the edge of the background.
  • Rounded Corners: Add a rounding effect to your screenshot's corners for a softer look.
  • Shadow: Add an outer shadow to the screenshot to create a sense of depth and dimension.
