Symptom: Downloaded a zip file but trying to open it directly
Solution:
- Right-click the zip file
- Select "Extract All" or "Extract Here"
- Use the extracted crx file for installation
Issue 2: Developer Mode not enabled
Symptom: Cannot drag and drop or can't find "Load unpacked" button
Solution:
- Go to
chrome://extensions/page - Make sure the "Developer mode" toggle in the top right is ON
- Refresh the page and try again
Issue 3: CRX file not dragged to the correct page
Symptom: Dragging the file has no effect
Solution:
- Make sure you're dragging a

Symptom: Shows "Apps, extensions and user scripts cannot be added from this website"
Solution: Use the "Load unpacked" method:
- Rename the crx file extension to
.zipand extract - Click "Load unpacked"
- Select the extracted folder
💡 If none of the above methods work, please see the ZIP installation method below.
📦 ZIP Installation Method
If CRX installation fails, you can use the ZIP method:
Step 1: Download ZIP Package
Download the extension ZIP package (same download link as CRX)
Step 2: Extract Files
Extract the ZIP file to a permanent location (e.g., D:\Extensions\full-page-screenshot)
Step 3: Load Extension
- Open
chrome://extensions/ - Enable "Developer mode"
- Click "Load unpacked"
- Select the extracted folder
Step 4: Complete Installation
The extension is ready to use once loaded successfully
⚠️ Important: After installing via ZIP method, do not delete or move the extracted folder, or the extension will stop working.
🔄 Updating the Extension
Locally installed extensions don't update automatically. To update manually:
- Download the latest CRX/ZIP package
- Remove the old version from the extensions page
- Follow the steps above to install the new version
