Local CRX/ZIP Installation
Safely load the official Full Page Screenshot ZIP package in developer mode when the Chrome Web Store is unavailable.
Before you install locally
Prefer the Chrome Web Store installation so updates arrive automatically. Use local installation only when the store is unavailable, for managed internal distribution, or for development testing.
Download packages only from an official Full Page Screenshot domain. Do not install an unknown CRX or ZIP file.
Download the official ZIP
Download the official ZIP package
Extract the entire archive to a permanent folder. You will select the extension directory that contains manifest.json.
Install with “Load unpacked”
- Open
chrome://extensions/in Chrome. - Enable Developer mode in the upper-right corner.
- Click Load unpacked.
- Select the extracted folder that contains
manifest.json. - Confirm that the extension appears and is enabled.
Do not delete or move the loaded folder; the browser needs it to keep the extension available.
If you received a CRX file
Managed environments or development builds may provide a .crx. Chrome can block drag-and-drop CRX installation as part of its security policy. If that happens, use the corresponding official ZIP and Load unpacked instead of weakening browser security.
Verify the installation
- Pin the extension icon.
- Open a normal webpage.
- Choose Capture Current View.
- Confirm that the editor opens.
Update a local installation
Locally loaded extensions do not receive store updates automatically:
- Download the new official ZIP.
- Extract it to the existing folder or another permanent folder.
- Click Reload on the extension card in
chrome://extensions/; if the folder changed, remove the old entry and load the new directory. - Confirm the version shown at the bottom of the extension popup.
