Capture History and Files

Use the extension's local capture history to search, filter, reopen, download, and clean up screenshots.

Open Capture History

Click the file icon in the popup header, or open Settings → Files.

Capture history lives in local data for the current browser profile; it is not a cloud folder. Uninstalling the extension or clearing extension/browser data can remove the records.

What a record contains

Each item shows:

  • A thumbnail or capture-mode icon.
  • Filename and webpage title.
  • Capture time, file size, and format.
  • Mode: current view, full page, element, area, or import.
  • A source-page action for normal http/https URLs.

Search, filter, and sort

  • Search: match the title, source URL, or filename.
  • Filter: show all, current view, full page, element, area, or imported images.
  • Sort: order by date, size, or name.

Search and filter only change the visible list; they do not delete records.

Actions for one capture

  • View Source: reopen the original webpage.
  • Edit: load the locally stored original back into the editor.
  • Download: download using the format saved with the record.
  • Delete: remove the history item and its stored original.

Bulk cleanup

Select multiple records to delete them together. Clear All removes the entire history, so download important images first.

History policy

Under Settings → Privacy, you can:

  • Enable or disable history for future captures.
  • Set the retention period in days.
  • Anonymize URLs in history so only the site origin remains.

Turning history off does not automatically delete existing data. Free accounts keep up to 50 history records. Pro enables unlimited history items, still subject to the browser's available local storage.

Download directory and filename

Under Settings → Capture, configure:

  • Preferred format: PNG, JPG, or WebP. Actual WebP export requires Pro.
  • Image quality.
  • A download subdirectory such as screenshots.
  • A filename template such as {title}_{date}_{time}.
  • Automatic download, automatic clipboard copy, and the save dialog.

A browser extension cannot choose any arbitrary desktop folder directly. The final location remains controlled by browser download settings and the save dialog.

Backup recommendations

  • Download important screenshots to your computer.
  • Back up before clearing large amounts of history or uninstalling the extension.
  • Before sharing, check the image, URL, and annotations for private information.
  • If local storage is full, delete unneeded history items and retry the capture.
